In September 2000, 189 nations made a joint pledge to eradicate extreme poverty from the world through the eight Millennium Development goals.
1) Identify the three of the Millennium Development Goals of greatest interest to you.
2) Assess our progress in achieving these goals. What can be done to accelerate progress in the achievement of these goals?
Goal 1: Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger.
Goal 2: Achieve universal primary education
Goal 3: Promote gender equality and empower women.
These three goals are important as they are all linked and interrelated and lead to one another. For example, education leads to gender equality and economic upliftment of the society and nation at large. 2.My progress in achieving these goals is pretty good as I am running a social organization that is generating awareness in my community pertaining to these issues. To accelerate progress in the achievement of these goals we can generate awareness of the community and make them sensitive to these issues by the use of media.
