In reference to the Institutional Review Board. Why do you feel this board is necessary, were you aware this board existed, how do you see the IRB’s role changing over the next 10 years as our technology, research, and medical needs advance?

IRB is an important component of research which ensures ethical practices in research and checks on the discrepancies of the research in order to provide benefits of the research to the population and avoid and any harmful practices. So, this is an important board to ensure the protection of the population and the researchers from wrong or harmful research practices.

Over last few years IRB has played an important role in evaluating and making necessary amendments in order to ensure the proper experiments. As the number of research are increasing there are chances of these experiments being overlooked so it can affect the quality of the end results. So in future these boards can improvise in maintaining efficacy in there protocols to ensure the quality of experiments.
