Diagnosis -Related Group (DRG) is a statistical system of classifying any inpatient stay into a groups for payment purposes. It divides possible diagnosis into more than 20 major body systems and again subdivides them into 500 groups to provide Medicare Reimbursement

Importance:

• It helps to classify hospital cases
• to identify the products used by the hospital
• to determine how much medicare pays to hospital
