You’ve been on call the last two weekends and it’s your turn to be off. At the last minute, a coworker asks if there’s any way you could take call for her this weekend. Her brother was seriously injured in a car accident and needs her help taking care of his children for a couple of days. You don’t have any plans yourself, but you’ve already taken call two weekends in a row.

The co worker can be helped on the basis of courtesy by doing duty on weekend for her only if she is physically and mentally healthy because she hasn't taken two consecutive weekend off. It is the time she needs dire rest to refresh her mentally and physically but if she is fit or comfortable in doing a duty on third consecutive weekend too .She can offer herself to the duty. In case if she cannot it is best to genuinely and warmly tell her co worker regarding it. So that the other coworker can approach other staff or the authority to find a replacement for her.
