If one practicing outside scope of practice, need to meet the consequences as per the State Nursing Board rules. Mostly these kind of practitioner's are terminated and complaint filed in Nursing board. Some cases they will need to initiate the corrective action plan and last chance agreement made to continue to work further. But still the complaint need to be filed.
However to be safe always refuse the tasks outside the legal scope of practices that not defined by nursing board rules.
For example one should not select the medication and medicines which not prescribed.
If practicing out of scope, harms the patient, they can sue nurse for wrong practice. So always manager must know the skill level of nurse and assigning task according to that.
