Epinephrine also known as adrenaline commonly secreted in medulla of adrenal glands in turn of activation of sympathetic nerves. emotions like fear, anger and stressful situations makes adrenaline to get released in bloodstream which in turn increases heart rate, muscle strength, blood pressure and sugar metabolism. As a medicine it is administered in conditions such as cardiac arrest to improve cardiac output and heart rate.

Effects of epinephrine in vascular system:

increased heart rate and inotropy

vasoconstriction in arteries and veins

vasodilation in muscle

increase coronary artery pressure

Increased cardiac output to muscular and hepatic circulations

increased systemic vascular resistance

Effects of epinephrine in pulmonary system:

It widens the bronchial tubes so as helping in easier breathing
