Could you please identify a current strategy that the government uses to ration healthcare. Then, describe how this policy may influence your health services organization and explain how this policy impacts healthcare cost and access.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

A current strategy that the government uses to ration healthcare includes the access given to the Medicaid, which is restricted by income and asset limits done by a means-test, and to other federal and state eligibility regulations. This policy reduces the healthcare cost by regulating and thus restricting the access to the healthcare. The health services organization are affected by this strategy as now they provide limited access to treatment via financial and clinical access limits.
