The New York Health Information Exchange is led by 'The new York city department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

The parties involved in HIE process are Government, Healthcare system, Doctors, Hospital and other Healthcare Provider and Patients.

The New York Health Information Exchange is a federated model. In the federated models, all the parties involved voluntarily agreed to exchange and access the information as and when required so that better quality of healthcare can be provided to the patients.
