1. An central repository is being made to store the personal health and medical data of patient which can be access from anywhere as required.

2. The healthcare professional and healthcare systems were involves for the data exchange process.

3. The patient consent process made mandatory to protect their right.

The New York Health Information Exchange is led by 'The new York city department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

The parties involved in HIE process are Government, Healthcare system, Doctors, Hospital and other Healthcare Provider and Patients.

The New York Health Information Exchange is a federated model. In the federated models, all the parties involved voluntarily agreed to exchange and access the information as and when required so that better quality of healthcare can be provided to the patients.
