Postmortem photography (sometimes referred to as memento mori) was popular during the Victorian era.
Why did such a practice come into fashion? Why do you think postmortem photography is no longer as popular? Personally, what do you think about postmortem photography; is it cool or creepy? What is the basis for your opinion?
During the Victorian era , many people didn't have any pictures of themselves when they are alive because the photograhy were expensive in those days. So the families find a way to remember their deceased loved ones ie , post - morten photography .
Now the photography is cheaper and accessible . So everyone is taking photos when they are alive and there is less need of capture a deceased photo.
It is creepy . It is a disturbing idea eventhough, that practice still existed to remember the loved ones before they placed them in the grave.
