Answer #1

As a administrator the person should determine appropriate responces and intervensions for staff when addressing sexual expression among the patients. Institutional policy requires not only addressing patients needs and the most appropriate decisions and actions related to their sexuality, but also needs to protect the institution itself.

The three ethical principles should be considered in policy.

1. The principle of respecting patients as a person.

2. The principle of doing good and avoiding harm.

3. The principle of privacy and confidentiality.

Nursing home must provide the opportunity to creat / or adjust an environment to help patients to express their sexual needs.

Nursing homes strive to creat a home for their residents through the person centered model of care. A positive attitude towards older adults, sexual needs enhances nursing home patient's quality of life and happiness.
