Intervention:
• Use therapeutic communication skills of active listening. Provide an open, non judgemental environment. Rationale: encourages and brings out feeling and concerns.
• Encourage patient to eat nutrient rich diet with adequate fluid intake. Provide small and frequent meals. Rationale: metabolism is increased.
The other interprofessional member is a counsellor. Since the patient will be depressed and anxious, he needs a counsellor to vent his feelings and support him in all ways. This will increase the prognosis.
