Answer: Amino acids in excess of our immediate needs would be used to synthesize urea only when protein intake is adequate.

The amino acids by oxidative deamination breaks to ammonia in presence of aminotransferase in liver. These ammonia is later converted into urea which is excreted by kidneys through urine. The amino acids are derived from dietary proteins. An adequate supply of protein is needed inorder produce amino acids for formation of body proteins.
