Answer: Near about 90% of the amlodipine with the help of the hepatic breakdown gets converted in to metabolites which are inactive. Through which the 60% of the metabolites gets excreted through the urine whereas 10% present as the active compound.

The side effects of the amlodipine are:

  • Headache
  • Swelling/ edema
  • Dizziness
  • Palpitations
  • Nausea
  • Flushing.

The patient teaching will you provide when prescribing amiodarone includes as the drug should be taken as directed. Avoid the grape juice with the medication. There should be sufficient gap in the case of two dose.

Amlodipine drug does not have any drug interactions with the digoxin.
