Answer #1

Heart failure is a emergency condition in which the heart can not pump adequately to supply blood and oxygen to all over the body. This causes fluid overload, respiratory distress, feeding problem, failure to thrive etc.

In the given case the infent is in diuratic therapy. So continuous fluid intake and output monitoring is required for that child. For the child we monitor the fluid output by placing the baby on a pre weighed absorbent diaper. During chainging the diaper the weight of the diaper has to take and it has to be subtract with the previous value of the weight of the diaper measured before providing it to the baby. By this we can get the more accurate value of fluid output of the baby.
