Culture can be defined as the ideas, customs and/or social behaviour of a particular group of people .

On an occassion, I was with a group of people who were from another country. The country was Japan. Following were the similarities and differences observed in their culture:

SIMILARITIES:

  • Culturally Japan has a high standard of living just like the US.
  • Clothes are similar or rather more global in nature.
  • Independence is valued highly in Japanese culture too.

DIFFERENCES

  • Their preferred language to converse in, is Japanese and not English.
  • They are extremely polite, punctual and humble as a country.
  • They value loyalty even in workforce.
