Answer this question
The nurse requested that the patient follow the instruction of the
doctor during ward round. What ranges of vital signs prompted the
doctor to instruct the patient?
The vital signs are monitored by nurse regularly to know any improvement or changes in patient's health. Vital signs such as body temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate, breaking rate are monitored continuously. If patient is diabetic, his sugar level is also checked continuously.
Our normal body temperature is 37 degree Celsius, normal pulse rate is 60- 100 beats per minute, normal blood pressure ranges from 80-120 mmHg and normal breathing rate is 12 to 16 breaths per minute.
If there is any change regarding these vital signs, it may affect the recovery of patient hence doctor instruct the patient according to that concern.
During ward round doctor first monitor the vital signs if there is any abnormality in it, doctor may prescribe another medication or he may increase or decrease the dose of medicine. Hence every patient must fallow the instructions given by doctor.
