Answer #1

A, Once the respiratory bronchioles form furher development includes extensive vascularization or the development of the blood vessels as well as the formation of alveoar ducts and alveolar precursors, At about week 19 the respiratory strrecturres being to differentiate to form type 1 and type 2 pneumocytes . Once type 2 cells have differentiated they begin to secret small amount of pulmonary surfactant.Around week 20 fetal breathing movement may begin.

Respiratory distress syndrome occurs commonly in premature babies because their lungs are structurly immature and they lack of surfactant. to help prevent RDS the team will put some surfactan into the babys lung in tiny quantities through a tube that goes down the wind pipe, giving corticosteroids to the mother during pregnancy that reduces the risk of a range of lung and breathing related conditions for the baby
