Homework Answers

Answer #1

b) Neutrophils.

Elevation of the neutrophils can be seen with the elevation of the total WBC count and supports the diagnosis of appendicitis or rupture of appendix.neutrophilia greatest than 75% occurs in more than 78% cases according to studies. Also in most infections, white blood cells that lead the immune system’s response are neutrophils.Neutrophils are the most plentiful type, making up 62% percent of white blood cells.

Monocytes constitute around 5.3% of the white blood cells, where basophils are 0.4% and eosinophils 2.3%.

So neutrophil count will be the most elevated in this case.
