Genetics:Pick a specific tumor suppressor gene or oncogene and explain how this gene can lead to or prevent cancer. Be sure to focus on the mechanism of how your chosen gene impacts the cell cycle. You can alternatively pick a virus that has been associated with cancer and explain how that virus impacts the cell cycle and ultimately leads to cancer. In laymen's terms please, this is a litlle confusing to me, thank you

Tumor suppressor gene is also called as Antioncogenic.

It protects a cell from cancer

It repairs DNA mistake

It causes programmed cell death and prevents multiplication of abnormal cells

For example p53 is tumor protein

If there is a risk factor ( life style, radiation exposure, environment etc.,) affects the cells function>>DNA damage>>signals p53 for fighting against this cells>>promotes cell death>>prevents cancer.

If mutation occurs during cell death to p53 it can cause cancer

Human papilloma virus is a skin infection transferred by sexual relationship. Occurs commonly in female and can be transferred to men by intercourse. First & second stage are infectious and third and fourth are noninfectious.the infection usually the settles in two year and it can cause cancer after 10 to 30 years. Usually warts can be noted.
