Contextual factors which mainly affects individuals in food recommendation are, Food access, Household food insecurity and Acculturation.

How is food recommendation different from just item recommendation problem?

Food recommendation may involves general recommendation on food such as dry foods, baked products, boiled foods, roots and tubers etc in which individual may not have interest in having such foods as they dont like it or either they dont have affordability to buy, or not available in their place. Whereas, recommending the items may have a chance to include their likes and dislikes and availability and affordability.
