Answer #1

According to CDC black woman are 3 to 4 times riskier for death after child birth than white woman. This is due to various reasons.

One of the reason is the social conditions prevailing among the blacks . The death can be due to poor accessibility to the health care, lack of knowledge regarding pregnancy related complications , lack of affordability, lack of medical facility and initial negligence of warning signs of complications. Black people are also undervalued which leads in providing poor quality of care. The stigma and stereotyping of blacks are also leading to unfair treatment .

Another reason is the medical condition of the mother. Blacks are more prone for preeclampsia which may complicates to heart diseases, pulmonary embolism and amniotic fluid embolism. According to the statistics, 12.5% of deaths is due to infection or sepsis and 11% is due to hemorrhage.
