Liver cancer is also called hepatic cancer. Most common form of Liver cancer is hepatocellular carcinoma or hepatoma. Liver cancer is the fifth most common cancer in men and ninth most common cancer in women.
Causes and risk factors
The main cause of Liver cancer is chronic infections with HBV(Hepatitis B virus)HBC(Hepatitis C virus). The main risk factors include alcohol sonsumption and cigarette smoking.
Men are more commonly affected than women.
Symptoms
In the initial stage, symptoms are uncommon.In later stage the symptoms include weight loss, loss of apettite, stomach pain, feeling of fullness even after small intake of food, nausea,vomiting and yellowish skin.
Management
The treatment measures includes removal of the affected part, chemotherapy and liver transplant.
