Each Insulin Bag has100 units in 100mL solution. If you have 100units/1mL, 10mL. How many bags can you prepare with the 10mL vial?

Answer #1

We have the stock solution with concentration 100 units/mL and volume 10 mL.

We require a solution of concentration 100units/100mL = 1unit/mL

Stock volume = (concentration required /stock concentration) * Volume required

10 = (1/100)* volume required

Volume required = 1000 mL

We will be able to 1000 mL of 100 units / 100 mL solution. Since each bag is to contain 100 mL.

Number of bags = Total volume / Bag volume = 1000/10 = 10

Hence ten insulin bags can be prepared with the 10 mL vial.

I have a tricky dilution question. You have a stock solution of methylene blue at 1g/100ml. Make 250ul of methylene blue at a concentration of 150ug/100ml with as little waste as possible (have as little excess as possible). So I have the dilution formula C1V1 = C2V2. That means (1g/100ml)V1 = (150ug/100ml)(250ul). I converted C1 to ug and got 106ug/100ml which reduces down to 104ug/1ml. Please correct anything I may have wrong. Next I cnverted V2 to ml to keep...
