1. Basic research- It is done for increase the knowledge but doesn't have commercial potential. It's conducted for well well being of human and animal.

2. Problem oriented research- Done by apex of the industry to find the solutions of existing problems faced by the company.

3. Applied research- It is opposite to basic research. Instead of gaining knowledge, done for to solve the problem.

4.problem solving research- It is done by individual companies that face a serious problems Eg-Marketing research and market research.

5.Quantitative research- this type of research is based on the numerical figures of numbers that's why called quantitative . It helps to compare present data with past one. Examples- Development and employment
