As , Jack 's age is 12 years.. the proper dose of Robitussin 30 ml is not sufficient .

If he 12 years old or more then the dose can be given 2 tsp( means 10 ml) of robitussin every 4 hour. Maximum 6 doses in 24 hours can be given. So the maximum dise of robitussin in 24 hour = 6× 10 = 60 ml in 24 hour.

Here, the robitussin dose is given 30 ml which if for age less than 12 years old. So, in that cases , robitussin is needed to given 1 tsp( means 5 ml) in every 4 hours and maximum 6 doses can be given. So the maximum dose will be = 6×5= 30 ml . In this example , the doctor has considered him as less than 12 years old.

But as he is 12 years old it is better to given 2 tsp in every 4 hours.
