1 False,because only 20% is systematically absorbed.Inhaled corticosteroids is the most effective controller of asthma.ICS maybe absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract or from lung.Most of the drug that is swallowed will undergo first pass metabolism and does not enter the systemic circulation.The ICS in current use have a high first-pass metabolism ,exceedingly 99%in the case of fluticosone propionate.It compares with only 20% for prednisilone where systemic absorption is required.
