Productive hours can be defined as total hours that an employee is capable of producing something in abundance or work with maximum effectiveness. Different researchers suggest that an employee, whose working hours is for 8 hours, can be productive for 2 hrs and 50 minutes. That is approximately 3 hours are the productive hours of a worker.
Productive hours are related to cost and Budget. In relation to cost, productivity can be calculated by dividing Average production( output) per time period by the total cost or resources. Cost or resources might be Capital, material, energy etc.Budget is an amount of money and resources earmarked for a particular institution , activity or time frame. An important budgetary function is cleanly planning for the patient care cost.
