The temperature of the unit is very hot. One patient is running up and down the hall yelling. “Help me, help me.” Using a milieu therapy approach, what would you do to calm the unit?

The milieu is a middle, it is a meaning of surroundings or environment. the milieu therapy is a kind of treatment for maladjustment to make substantial changes to patients' immediate life, circumstances, and environment. it teaches adaptive coping, integration, and relationship skills that are important in their life. it also achieves client autonomy. in this situation, a calm approach by facial expressions and behavior with slow verbal statements can calm down the patient and environment, use simple, concrete explanations, and avoid using attractions. focus on feeling vs content help to meet patient needs, explain the reality, encourage positive behavior, and discourage false beliefs. have a smile in your face and listen to the patient-client and help to understand the reality and promote a patient's willingness and meets the needs of the patient.
