1. PREMEDICATION ASSESSMENT:-
- Obtain blood pressure readings in supine and standing position.
- measure weight, blood pressure and apical pulse.
- Initiate lab investigation as directed by physician as electrolytes.
- status of hydration.

2. POST MEDICATION ASSESSMENT:-
-Monitor for fluid overload by measuring intake, output, and daily weights.
-
Monitor laboratory values, especially potassium and sodium.
-Monitor vital signs, especially blood pressure. (Diuretics reduce blood volume,
resulting in lowered blood pressure).
-Monitor for changes in level of consciousness, dizziness, fatigue, and postural
hypotension.

-Monitor potassium balance.

3. ADVERSE EFFECT OF FUROSEMIDE(LASIX):-
- increased urination and thirst
- muscle cramps
- itching or rashes
- Dizziness
- sign of dehydration
- stomach pain and constipation
- clay coloured stool
- electrolyte imbalance.
