What is the difference between intraoperative and interoperative? Define each and give an example
Intraoperative is the phase of operative stage starting from
transport of the patient to operation room followed by anesthesia,
operation and transportation of patient back to recovery room. Eg :
taking the patient to operation theatre for cholecystectomy,
administration of general anesthesia, performing operation and
taking back patient to recovery room.
Interoperative phase is the events occuring in between the surgical
procedure. Eg : performing surgical incision for
cholecystectomy.
