FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE:-
- Also called as founder of modern nursing.
- Nightingale’s legacy is a very strong one that lives throughout
the nursing community and her principles still hold true
today.
- My perception of the Millennium Goals is that everyone everywhere
has a role to play.
- Florence Nightingale’s legacy has influenced my perception
basically because a woman in a time where woman were not considered
equals and without the technology that is available today was able
to spread this message world wide and advocate for woman to improve
maternal health or to eradicate hunger by running a campaign to
hire salaried nurses.
- She advocated for better conditions for women, children and the
poor and hungry (Beck 2014).
- She also brought awareness to creating nursing as a profession
and sought to have nurses educated instead of trained (Beck
2014).
