Standard precautions outline:
- Hand hygeine: Washing of hands frequently with soap and
application of alcohol based sanitizers. Should be done before and
after touching patient, after touching medical equipment near
patient, belongings of patient , removal of drugs after
procedures.
- Personal protection equipment : Gloves, Masks, Gowns, Goggles
to create physical barrier against blood, bodily fluids and other
infected material.
- Needle stick and sharps injury prevention: by appropriate care
while using and disposing in proper containers
- Cleansing and disinfection : to be performed frequently
- Respiratory ettiquette/ Cough hygeine
- Proper waste disposal
- Safe injection practices
