Nutritional precautions for immunicompromised clients

• Patient should avoid dairy products such as unpasteurized milk, cheese and other dairy products. Cheeses from the deli unless contained in a cooked dish Blue cheese, including Roquefort, Gorgonzola, and Stilton.
• Patient should avoid raw or uncooked meat, fish, poultry, eggs and egg substitute. Patient should avoid packaged deli meats unless heated until steaming.
• Patient should avoid unwashed raw fruits and vegetables, salad bars or pre-cut fruits sold in store.
• Patient should avoid raw honey and raw uncooked brewer's yeast.
