Mouth breathing is considered as generally the sleep disordered breathing , as normal breathing should be conducted by the nose. Mouth breathing complaint as in this case may be associated with the sleep apnea as well as ccongestion in the nasal route or the airways. Mouth breathing can be assessed by lip seal test, mirror test as well as water retention test in the patients. A wind instrument Celluloid is used for the assessment of such mouth breathing. This can be effectively managed by some excercises as well as by aerosol based antihistaminic as well as steroidal therapy as spray.
