Morphine Sulfate:
Indication:
management of acute and chronic pain
MOA:
It acts by changing the way how brain and nervous system responds to pain
Side effects:
Constipation, nausea, vomiting, sweating, somnolence, dizziness, sedation, respiratory depression, syncope and hypotension
Dosage: <18 yrs not established, For adults initial dose of 10-20mg every 4 hours
Complications:
Adrenal insufficiency, Fatal respiratory depression, seizures, withdrawl syndrome.
Vit K (acquamephytin)
Indication : Used as an anticoagulant for coagulation disorder
Side effects: flushing sensation, dizziness,weak pulse, profuse sweating, hypotension, dyspnea and cyanosis
MOA: it helps to thicken the blood and helps in cessation of bleeding
Dosage: A single IM dose of 0.5 to 1 mg within one hour of birth
Complication: Hypersensitivity reaction
