Is cystocele a cause of urinary tract infections? Explain your position.

The bulging or dropping of the bladder into the vulva is known as cystocele. Sometimes when the muscles and supportive tissues between a woman’s bladder and vulva weaken and stretch, letting the bladder sag from its normal position and bulge into the vulva or through the vulval opening. This is caused due to bodily stress such as childbirth can also damage part of the vulva wall. If it deteriorates enough, the bladder can prolapse, meaning it is no longer supported and descends into the vulva. This causes more discomfort in the urinary tract, such as no or little passage of the urine. All these may be cause of the urinary tract infections as the bladder didnot empty, which leads it to more prone to these kind of infections.
