What would your response be to these two discussion board responses from students:
1. My definition of knowledge is information that you acquire throughout your life that you can use for your benefit. Truth when talking about information is tricky because you need to do research in order to find out if something is truthful. that is where belief comes in to play. will you believe something to be true just because you saw a video on it? will you do more research to find out the truth about that certain subject? to then prove with your knowledge that you can believe what that video is saying.
A little more on what i said about knowledge, if you believe a claim, have an argument for it that is beyond reasonable doubt, and have no reason to think you are mistaken, you may be said to have knowledge the claim is true (Moore & Parker, 2017).
Since we are in critical thinking our knowledge will be put to the test numerous times to see if what we know is truthful information or falsified information that we believe in. this class will teach us to research and always find the truth on a claim before we put our full belief in to it.
2.
-knowledge: an acquired meaning/idea about something or someone
-truth: a fact
-belief: a opinion that is mistaken for a fact
In the studies of this course I believe each of these terms will be relevant because they are the basis of critical reasoning. During the review of chapter one, which is titled 'Don't Believe Everything You Think', I realize a lot of the information leads to make me think whether my beliefs and claims are valid or not which articulates critical thinking. It also stems up certain concerns like, Is the truth really what it seems? or Am I as knowledgeable as I believe? Chapter one states "The ultimate objective in thinking critically is to come to conclusions that are correct and to make decisions that are wise." In accordance with the claim, this course is going aid us set forth sagacious thought processes. Each of these terms knowledge, truth and belief will be extremely affective during this procedure.
