Alarm reaction stage is one of the three stages of stress. Alarm stage is the initial stage which shows the starting symptoms of the body experiencing stress. The other stage of stress are resistance stage and exhaustion stage.
During the alarm stage a signal is sent to the part of brain called hypothalamus which enables the release of glucocorticoids hormones which activates the adrenal gland to release cortisol a stress hormone to increase the heart beat rate and gives boost of adrenaline to increase energy in the body.
