The difference between a job and career;

A career is a lifelong involvement in which we build skills, knowledge, and experiences. Our career includes; education, training, work experience, and community involvement. It includes unpaid work and hobbies. Managing career involves our thinking about what we need to do to improve or move up. Our staying current in our skills and knowledge. However, a job is a specific position or work for which we get paid. Example: laboratory technician at ABC Company.

Some of the back door we should consider when choosing a major include;

Reflect on what we find interesting

Evaluating our beliefs and core values

taking introductory courses and then testing out majors

Asking for help from advisers and those who know us well

Checking degree requirements

Following our own dream

Using elective credits to explore other interests.
