It involves the disciplines of Business (management and organisational sciences), Computer Sciences, and Medical and Health Sciences

#. Interoperability

The ability of two or more systems to exchange and use one another's information in a useful way.

Interoperability means the ability of health information systems to work together within and across organizational boundaries in order to advance the effective delivery of healthcare for individuals and communities.

There are three level of interoperability:

1) Foundational - information is exchanged;

2) Structural - structure and format of data is exchanged;

3) Semantic - interpretations and meanings of data are exchanged.
