Pelvic Inflammatory Disease usually occurs when sexually transmitted bacteria spread from the pelvic area to the womb (uterus), fallopian tubes or ovaries. Some patient with PID shows elevated ESR and CPR levels. ESR, a nonspecific inflammatory marker has been found to be elevated in PID but an elevated is only present in approximately 75% of women with acute PID and, as a nonspecific maker of inflammation, can be found in other disease states. CRP levels decrease to normal sooner than ESR following effective antibiotic therapy and may be beneficial as a monitoring tool.
Urinalysis is the physical, chemical, and microscopic examination of urine. It involves a number of tests to detect and measure various compounds that pass through the urine. Sometimes at the initial stage, its difficult to detect the disease as there is no early sign and symptoms.
