  • Stool culture and sensitivity
  • Routine analysis of stool
  • Clostridium difficile testing

Dysentry ( Acute bloody diarrhoea) is the diagnosis.This is acute diarrhoea lasting less than 14 days with bloody stools.

Causes for diagnosis:

  • repeated episode of severe abdominal pain .
  • bloody diarrhea up to 20 times/day for the past 2 days

Treatment in this case is as follows:

  • Intravenous fluids and oral rehydration solution
  • Administer antidiarrhoeals eg.Loperamide
  • Probiotics and zinc supplements

Prevention:

  • Hand hygiene
  • Proper food,water and enevironmetal hygiene
  • Administration of vaccines to avoid viral and bacterial infections.
