Body mechanics refers to the way we move during daily activities. Proper body mechanics can help you avoid injury and muscle fatigue. I would help the nurse to take the proper position and make her to rest. I will make her stand with feet shoulder width apart, create a small hollow in her low back by tucking tailbone in and tilting pelvic bone slightly forward. This is done by tightening buttock muscles and thus rotating the pelvis to neutral position and pull shoulders back and lift chest forward.
No further movement should be allowed in this kind of injury, I will call the nurse supervisor to take care of the nurse. Injured health care workers cannot work up to their full potential or may even leave the profession due to back injuries.
