Recommendations for weight gain:-

Add healthy calories by adding nuts or seed toppings , cheese and healthy dishes in diet .

Eat foods that are rich in nutrients.

Eat snacks which contain plenty of protein and healthy carbohydrates for a healthy heart.

Eating mini meals throughout the day increase calorie intake.

High calorie smoothies and shakes which provide nutrient dense calories.

Eat meals with fibrous carbohydrates and healthful fats in every meal helps to increase calories and nutrients in the diet.

Weight gain during pregnancy :

Underweight women should gain 28 to 40 pounds and overweight women need to gain only 15 to 25 pounds during pregnancy. About 2 to 4 pounds should gain during the first trimester for a normal woman and about 1 pound a week during the 2nd and 3rd   trimester.
