Answer - The "bad" cholesterol is also known as LDL(low density lipoprotein).

LDL become deposited in blood vessels internal wall and make them more narrow cause reduce blood supply. The whole process is known as atherosclerosis. If blood vessels narrows in heart arteries it cause heart problems like coronary artry disease, myocardial infarctions.

The normal level of LDL should be below 130 mg /dl, if excess than normal value can be risk for atherosclerosis or risk for coronary artry disease.
