Hemolyzed sample

Hemolysis : rupture of RBCs and release of their contents such as haemoglobin and potassium into surrounding plasma.

*Lab tests can be performed if they gets an haemolysed sample, like coagulation studies.(Studies shows no difference in haemolysed or non haemolysed samples during coagulation tests.)

*Blood sugar levels can be done even with haemolysed samples.

*Any of the serum assays can't be done. (If done falsely elevated concentration of k+,LDH, GGT or AST etc..and tests need to be repeated)
