type of blood pressure measurement which is invasive and often inconvenient and impractical .

Answer #1

Invasive blood pressure monitoring is especially used in critical care unit   as well as operation theatre .In this monitoring we can read arterial pressure by instilling the needle into the appropriate artery through an aseptic technique. It is helps to identify any abrupt changes of blood pressure in a client. However it is not suitable for all patients because if it is used in ambulatory patients formation of thrombous occurs and it is more painful.

Blood pressure: A blood pressure measurement consists of two numbers: the systolic pressure, which is the maximum pressure taken when the heart is contracting, and the diastolic pressure, which is the minimum pressure taken at the beginning of the heartbeat. Blood pressures were measured, in millimeters, for a sample of adults. The following table presents the results. Systolic 126 109 104 115 120 119 132 117 Diastolic 86 86 79 79 68 89 76 70 The least-squares regression line y=bo+b1x=90.1741-0.0938x...

Blood pressure is normally taken on the upper arm at the level of the heart. Suppose, however, that a patient has his arms in a cast, so you cannot take his blood pressure in the usual way. If you have him stand up and take the blood pressure at his calf, which is 95.5 cm below his heart, what would be the magnitude of the difference between this measurement of blood pressure and a normal blood-pressure measurement? The density of...

When the heart pumps blood into the aorta, the pressure gradient-the difference between the blood pressure inside the heart and the blood pressure in the artery-is an important diagnostic measurement. A direct measurement of the pressure gradient is difficult, but an indirect determination can be made by measuring the Doppler shift of reflected ultrasound. Blood is essentially at rest in the heart; when it leaves and enters the aorta, it speeds up significantly and-according to Bernoulli's equation-the pressure must decrease....

A typical human blood pressure reading is "120/80". The measurement units are based on a mercury manometer. Calculate the numbers if measured on the moon, where the gravitational acceleration is 1.6 m/s^2, also with a mercury manometer. The density of mercury is 13.5 g/cm^3.
