1. Maturational crisis: such crisis results from transition of role or rise of new expectations and demands during various stages of development.

2. Situational crisis : situational crisis arises from sudden change in normal events resulting in hazardous consequences such as loss of job or divorce.

3. Adventitious crisis : occurence of sudden traumatic and fateful events results in adventitious crisis such as war or rapes.

The nurse will identify the trauma of rape victim as adventitious crisis.
