Body mass index(BMI) is the value that measures body weight according to height, the result is derive by body weight in kilogram devided by body height in meter square.

The universal unit of BMI is kg/m2.

Category BMI
Underweight 18.5 Kg/m2
normal weight 18.5 - 25 Kg/m2
overweight 25 - 30 Kg/m2
moderately obey's 30 - 35 Kg/m2
severely obey's 35 - 40 Kg/m2
Veryseverely obey's 40 Kg/m2

Example - A person having height of 1.6 meter and weight of 56 kg.

Here BMI is 56 kg/(1.6)2

= 21.8 Kg/m2

Here the BMI is in normal range.
