Osteomylitis definition:

Inflammation and destruction of bone caused by bacteria , mycobacteria or fungi infection

Pathophysiology

IInvasion of microorganisms into the local blood vessels near to the bone, which cause bone necrosis due to lack blood supply to the bone through that occuded blood vessels, it leads to local spread of infection.later on the infection expand or metastasis through the bone cortex , up to the periosteum or metatasis of infection up to the periosteum, here subcutaneous abscesses occur, finally it leads to the chronic osteomylitis.
